Brussels sprouts are a hardy brassica that produce tall stems of tightly packed, nutty-flavoured mini cabbages. These organic seeds thrive in UK gardens and deliver reliable yields in the colder months — ideal for allotments and kitchen gardens.

Deep, fertile soil or raised beds

Peat-free compost or well-rotted manure

Watering can, hoe, and plant labels

Netting or fleece for protection
🌿 Growing & Care Instructions
1. Sowing (Best Mar–May)

Start indoors in modules or sow direct into a seedbed.

Sow 1cm deep in firm, moist compost or fine soil.

Space seeds 5–7cm apart and keep trays or ground moist.

Harden off before transplanting outdoors.
2. Germination

Germinates in 7–14 days at 10–20°C.

Keep moist but not waterlogged.
3. Transplanting

When plants are 10–15cm tall with 4–6 leaves (June–July), transplant to final position.

Space 60cm apart in rows 60–75cm apart.

Firm the soil around each plant well to prevent wind rock.
