The flowers can be used dried or fresh for teas, sachets, or natural home remedies.

🌿 Growing & Care Guide

A Timeless, Fragrant Herb for Pollinators and Peaceful Gardens
Lavandula (commonly known as lavender) is a drought-tolerant, evergreen perennial celebrated for its soothing scent, purple blooms, and pollinator appeal. These organic seeds grow into graceful, aromatic plants perfect for borders, containers, and sensory gardens.

🛒 What You’ll Need:

  • Organic Lavandula seeds

  • Small pots or seed trays

  • Free-draining, sandy compost

  • Sunny, sheltered location (or windowsill for starting)

  • Spray bottle or fine watering can

🌿 Growing & Care Instructions

1. Sowing (Best Feb–Jun or Sep)

  • Fill a tray or pots with moist, free-draining compost.

  • Sow seeds on the surface — do not cover.

  • Press gently to ensure contact with soil.

  • Place in a warm, bright spot (18–21°C), using a propagator or clear lid to retain humidity.

2. Germination

  • Germinates in 14–28 days, but can take longer.

  • Be patient — lavender is naturally slow to start.

  • Keep compost barely moist — not wet.

3. Transplanting

  • Once seedlings have 2–3 sets of leaves, transplant into individual pots.

  • Harden off before planting outside in late spring or early autumn.

  • Choose a sunny, well-drained location.

  • Space plants 30–45cm apart.

4. Growing On

  • Water sparingly. Once established, lavender prefers dry conditions.

  • Mulch with grit or sand to prevent rot and improve drainage.

  • Lightly trim after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth.

  • Avoid heavy pruning into woody stems.

5. Harvesting

  • Harvest flower stems just before buds fully open for peak fragrance.

  • Use fresh or air-dry upside down in bunches.

  • Ideal for crafts, sleep sachets, tea, or potpourri.

From seed to serene — organic lavender brings lasting calm, colour, and pollinator joy to every garden.
