πΌ Growing & Care Guide
-
Sow Indoors (Best JanβApr):
-
Fill your biodegradable pot with the compost provided.
-
Gently press the seeds into the surface β they need light to germinate, so donβt cover them.
-
Water lightly using a spray bottle or fine rose watering can. Keep soil moist but not soaked.
-
Place the pot on a bright windowsill or in a warm spot (18β20Β°C).
-
-
Germination:
-
Seeds may take 14β28 days to germinate. Be patient β strawberries grow slowly at first but are worth the wait!
-
-
Thinning & Potting On:
-
Once seedlings have at least two sets of leaves, gently thin out the weaker ones.
-
Transplant stronger seedlings into individual pots or plant the entire biodegradable pot directly into a larger planter or garden bed when roots appear through the base.
-
-
Feeding:
-
Mix the fish, blood & bone feed into the soil around the plant base once established. Reapply every 4β6 weeks during growing season.
-
-
Care Tips:
-
Keep soil moist but avoid waterlogging.
-
Strawberries love sunshine β aim for at least 6 hours of light daily.
-
Protect young plants from slugs or birds using netting or companion planting.
-
-
Harvesting:
-
You may see your first fruits in the second year β or earlier with luck and care! Pick when berries are fully red, plump, and fragrant.
-
From tiny seeds to juicy strawberries β letβs grow something good, naturally.
